The rumor that a Jewish settlement was being established in Kerch caused the influx of Jewish workers from all sections of the country. Actually one hundred and twenty Jewish youths have been settled. The news of the new settlement spread rapidly, many Jews selling their last possessions and traveling to Kerch only to be sorely disappointed.

The mass immigration to Kerch has caused considerable chaos there and a despatch has been received from the Kerch settlers begging that no more workers be sent.
