Four contributions of $10,000 each are among pledges reported in the past few days toward the $5,000,000 endowment fund of the Hebrew Union College. Two of $5,000, one of $3,00 and a number of lesser amounts sent the total to date to $3,281,181.76. This leaves $718,818.24 to be pledged to reach $4,000,000 by July 1, to make effective a $500,000 gift of Julius Rosenwald of Chicago. Those who contributed $10,000 are Mr. and Mrs. Milton F. Goodman, Chicago; L. E. Block. Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Philip D. Block. Chicago; and Mr. and Mrs. Maurice L. Rothschild, Chicago.

Ground for the new Children’s Home for Temporary Shelter will be broken next month at the northwest corner of 205th Street and the Grand Concourse, New York. The new home will cost $500,000.

The new building will supplant the present quarters at 30 West 120th Street which are considered inadequate. The announcement was made following an executive session of twenty-fie members at the Jewish Club, at the Park Royal Hotel, at which Nathan Hirsch presided.
