Over a signature of Dr. Joseph Klausner, well known Jewish historian and author of “Jesus of Nazareth.” the All-Palestine Jewish Committee for the Defense of the Wailing Wall issued an appeal “to all nations” to protest against the desecrations perpetrated by Arab Moslems during the last several days at the Western Wall of the Temple commonly known as the Wailing Wall.

national religious sanctuary and recites the events which occurred beginning on the Day of Atonement last year, which culminated in the recent permission granted by the Palestine government to the Moslems to continue building operations on and near the Wall, infringing upon the Jewish right of worship there. The committee finds that the pretext of maintaining the status quo is designed to curtail the unhampered right of the Jews to the Temple remnant and urges that the Wall be returned to the Jews as their Holy Site, which they have “acquired by their blood and tears.” All Jewish groups and parties are united in the All-Palestine Committee for the Defense of the Wailing Wall.
