Arab assaults on Jews with the Wailing Wall controversy as the background are continuing in Jerusalem.

The Holy City lived through another day of uncertainty when thousands of Arabs from outside of Jerusalem gathered for their weekly prayers on Friday at the Mosque of Omar.

The Communists in Palestine have exploited the events of the recent days issuing a proclamation in which they add fuel to the fire, Reviewing the bloodshed between the Arabs and the Jews, the proclamation calls on “all Palestine to break down British imperialism.”

A group of aged Jewish worshippers who assembled at the Wailing Wall Thursday afternoon for the Minchah prayers were stoned by Arabs.

Two Jews were assaulted during the day, one near the American colony, and another at Motza. A Russian Christian, who was mistaken by the Arabs for a Jew was severely beaten up in the Old City. The victim is a septuagenarian. An old Jew travelling with a group of Arabs in a bus from Tiberias to Jerusalem was beaten by his companions when the bus stopped at Ramallah.

The report that one of the victims of the beatings administered by the Jerusalem police to the 26 Jews during the funeral of Abraham Mizrachi died is untrue.

The Moslem committee for the defense of the Wailing Wall issued an appeal to the Moslem population in which it is alleged that the responsibility for the last events rests upon the Jews. The appeal asserts that the Jews seek to extend their rights at the Wall. “This is dangerous and inadmissible,” the appeal says. (Continued on Page 4)

The Palestine Arab Executive in its memorandum to Acting High Commissioner Luke complains against the government granting permission to the Jewish youth demonstration at the Wailing Wall on Tish B’ab, August 15. “This provoked the Moslem counter demonstration,” the memorandum states, alleging that a large number of Arabs were wounded during these days and 22 were arrested. They demand that the government discontinue permitting Jewish demonstrations and restore order.

The Moslem Supreme Council summoned to court the publishers of the “Doar Ha’yom,” the Revisionist organedited by Vladimir Jabotinsky, for alleged spreading of false news concerning the Council.
