This followed the statement of the night before that the situation was quiet in the south, with sporadic outbreaks in the north. He added that the State Department received word of the landing of additional troops.
Dr. Samuel Lewin-Epstein, son of E. W. Lewin-Epstein of Brooklyn, is unharmed in Jerusalem, according to a cable from Consul-General Knabenshue received by the State Department, which added that Dr. Lewin-Epstein’s home in Talpioth was looted by the Arabs.
