Palestine Returning to Normal Conditions, Reports Indicate; Chancellor Recommends Measures for Assur

Air Vice-Marshal Higgins was called from India to take charge of the Royal Air Force in Palestine, replacing Brigadier General Dobbey as commander of all the British forces in Palestine. Although his arrival was signalled, it is not known when he will come.

The British plane carrier “Courageous” is leaving Jaffa waters, returning to its base which is taken here as an indication of the confidence of the authorities that they have the situation in hand.
