The peace of Northern Galilec was disturbed during last night when the colony Mishmar Hayardon was raided and twenty-five head of cattle stolen. At Mahnayim two Jews were wounded, one gravely, but it is as yet uncertain whether it was the result of an Arab attack or through accident.
A rumor has it that a meeting of tribesmen were held on the Transjordanian side of the frontier, in which Bedouins from Palestine participated and that a renewal of the attacks was planned there if the government persists in its punitive measures against the Arab villages.
Quoting what it terms “authoritative sources” the “Doar Ha’yom”, Hebrew daily, declares that despite impressions to the contrary, the Transjordanian frontier force did not distinguish itself during the disturbances. A company of 150, composed of Sudanese and Circassians, commanded by Major Smith, arrived in Beisan after the disturbances, when 20 Jews were already wounded and all others had evacuated the town. The force arrived in the Emek after the burning of the grannerics.
