While the British authorities in Palestine are engaged in restoring normal conditions in the country, reliable reports reached here concerning the preparation for grave hostilities in the Arabian desert between the warring Arab clans. Ibn Saud, the Sultan of the Wahabis and ruler of Nejd and Hedjas, commanding 32,000 troops under the leadership of three generals, and Feisal Dawish, leader of the Akhwan, who mobilized 4,000 rebels, are at the point of clashing.
Official quarters here confirmed the report of new unrest in Central Arabia, but it was added that the anti-Wahabi campaign took an adverse turn in the last ten days.
Reports from less reliable sources describe Wahabi raids on sections of the Howeita and movements of the Bnei Atah tribes, which owe allegiance to Transjordania. According to another report, the Wahabis are marching on Akaba, where a British officer was despatched to investigate the situation.
