Describing himself as a direct descendant of King Solomon and representative of the only Christian nation in Africa, Lidj Andargue Massai of Abyssinia made a plea before the League of Nations Assembly for Christian peoples to unite to bring peace of Palestine.

Christian residents of Palestine took sides in the Arab-Jewish question, instead of acting as peacemakers, he said. He urged Christians to do everything in their power to bring about an amicable settlement.
