American Zionists have decided to demand from Ramsay MacDonald, upon his arrival in New York, a statement regarding Great Britain’s policy towards Palestine, the “Evening Standard” says that it understands.

Commenting editorially, the paper staes that “American Zionists are confident of persuading MacDonald to declare that the Mandate will be retained and that Jewish settlers in Palestine will continue to receive favorable consideration. Behind the hope of these expectations lies a menace. If MacDonald does not make up his mind in the desired sense, he is threatened with the same kind of reception in America as a British Premier would have received from the Irish population of New York in the days before the Irish settlement.”
