The Rabbinate and Jewish lay organizations here issued the following message on the occasion of the New Year through the headquarters of the Keren Kayameth, Jewish National Fund.

“The Kenesseth Israel, the Jewish community of Palestine, sends greeting for the New Year to all Jews through out the Diaspora. We have full faith and confidence that our land will be rebuilt.”

Chief Rabbi A. J. Kook, in his message, declared: “To our brethren in dispersion we send blessings for a happy, glorious year, a year for healing Zion’s wounds, a year of multiplied zeal for the redemption of the Holy Land and upbuilding her ancient and newer wastes with the help of the Lord, the Rock of Israel and His Redeemer.”

Col. Frederick H. Kisch, in a message on behalf of the Zionist Executive, declared: “In the first moment of our distress we received from Jews throughout the world, brought closer together through the unifying influence of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, help and encouragement which satisfied us both bodily and mentally. I hope and believe that in passing from relief activity to regular life and work. Jewry at large will, during the coming year, make the greatest possible effort to expand and strengthen the Jews’ structure in Eretz Israel, so as to safeguard the Yishub against further sacrifice, enabling through fruitful development to extend its harmonizing and stimulating influence among Jewries throughout the world.”
