Four Jews of Haifa, including the aged engineer-contractor, Miller, were summoned to court yesterday on changes of having fired upon the Arabs from the Miller house during the riots in Haifa.
The arrest of Miller, following the riots, his parade through the streets handcuffed, and his final release on bail, had a wide repercussion in Palestine and aroused considerable indignation, as Mr. Miller is one of the most prominent inhabitants of Palestine. Together with his sons, he conducts the most famous port contracting firm in Palestine and has frequently carried out work for both the Palestine and the Transjordan governments.
