Vandals Uproot Orange and Banana Groves; Cause Great Damage

At the orange and banana grove of the Roumanian Jew. Katz. near Haifa Bay, all the trees over an area of 42 dunams were uprooted, doing great damage. A number of Arbs have been arrested on suspicion. Katz’s farm had already suffered $50,000 worth of damage during the August riots.

Yesterday Jewish workers ploughing land near Haifa Bay were assaulted by Arabs who arrived with Advocate Fuad Afalah. The workers were compelled to stop. Both Arabs and workers have been ordered by the police to appear for examination. In the meantime the police have onlered ploughing suspended.

Two more instigators of the Jaffa riots have been exited to Jenin and Jericho respectively.
