The Arabs at Gaza went on strike yesterday because of an alleged insult to a resident of Gaza, the lawyer Rushdi Shawah, by the Jaffa chief of police. Tel Mond was fired on last night but no one was hurt. The Misrah Kvutza in Emek was also fired on and had its telephone wires cut. Three more Jaffa instigators of the Safed riots have been exiled to Safed, Beisan and Bethlehem respectively. A German tourist just returned from Transjordan told the “Doar Hayom” that firearms are freely smuggled into Palestine by the Arabs via Transjordan since the control is very slight.
