The Haifa Court has sentenced to death, nine Arabs, for the murder of the Afriat family of Safed. Among those condemned is a clerk in the Department of Health. One Arab was sentenced to fifteen years at hard labor, while three were acquitted including a teacher in the Government school at Nazareth. One of the acquitted had previously been sentenced to death for his part in another murder.
The head of the Afriat family was the director of the Mizrachi School at Safed.
