The peace in Palestine is only an apparent one, since the Jews and Arabs have opposing interpretations of the Balfour Declaration, declares the “Daily Chronicle’s” Palestine correspondent today in a half column article headed “Palestine in Ferment.”

Declaring that alarming reports have reached him, the correspondent says it is essential that the Inquiry Commission report be presented quickly and that the government’s policy be announced without delay, thus giving a direct lead to the Palestine administration. The article follows the line of the “Daily Mail,” “Morning Post,” and “Express,” and concluded with, “at the moment, Palestine is, like India, a powder magazine.”
