19% Increase in Cases of Brooklyn Jewish Aid Bodies

During the year 1929 the United Jewish Aid Societies of Brooklyn, which is affiliated with the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities, increased its relief activities 19 percent over the year previous, according to the report rendered by Mortimer Brenner, president of the organization, at its nineteenth annual meeting held Monday night.

One thousand two hundred and twenty-five families were added to the United Jewish Aid Societies charity list as new cases during 1929, declared Mr. Brenner. Altogether it gave financial aid or personal service to 3,643 families, or 17,386 persons in Brooklyn. The society incurred a deficit of $4,000 during the past year.
