The Yevsektzia or Jewish section of the Communist Party has been officially dissolved by the Executive Committee of the Communist Party, according to an announcement today in the “Oktiabre,” the organ of the White Russian Yevsektzia. The decision to dissolve it, says the “Oktiabre,” is part of a general reorganization of the party machinery. In the meantime great dissatisfaction prevails among the Jewish Communist leaders.
The “Oktiabre” declares: “We hear among our Jewish Communists voices of dissatisfaction. Many Yevseks falsely interpret the decision to mean that now Jewish Communist activities will be weakened. We must combat such panicky moods of disappointment.”
The paper also adds that with the abolition of the Yevsektzia, the situation of the Jews legally and economically will undoubtedly improve because the party itself, instead of the Yevsektzia, will be directly interested in matters concerning Jewish life, thus directly carrying the burden of helping.
