Officials in all government departments have been drafted for training in anti-locust measures preparatory to the government’s locust-war. The locust situation has been officially described as menacing as a result of the immense swarms of the pests invading the country from Jericho and the Dead Sea. Other egg-laying swarms are settling in Beersheba and the Jordan Valley.
