Profound regret at the passing of Lord Balfour was expressed here today by K. Debuchi, Japanese ambassador to the United States. Mr. Debuchi said “Lord Balfour has been dear to all who stand for world peace and understanding. His untimely death at this moment reminds us particularly of his great work at the Washington Arms Conference. I wish to express my sincere condolence at the irrevocable loss which the world has sustained in the death of this distinguished statesman.”
