A test case to determine whether or not the reading of the Bible in public schools is constitutional is being undertaken by the American Civil Liberties Union. Since the Bible chosen in all cases is the Protestant version (King James’) the American Civil Liberties Union is offering its services free of charge to any Catholic, Jewish or agnostic family who would be willing to make this test case, which would lay the basis for raising the constitutional question and which would bring the case into the Federal courts.
