More than 400 Jewish philanthropic and communal leaders, representing Brooklyn’s professions, trades, and industries, will join in a borough-wide observation of “Federation Day,” which has been scheduled for Thursday, May 8th, according to an announcement made yesterday by Nathan D. Shapiro, president of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities.
“Federation Day,” which will be devoted to an all-day canvass of the borough in the interests of the Brooklyn Federation, is organized in connection with the Emergency Deficit Campaign for $400,000, which the Federation is conducting.
Jesse Baer, a member of the board of directors of the Brooklyn Hebrew Orphan Asylum and an active worker in the Federation’s Deficit Campaign, has been appointed chairman of “Federation Day.”
