More than 1,000 delegates are here to attend the eighteenth annual convention of the United Synagogue of America and the thirteenth annual convention of the Women’s League of the United Synagogue of America which opens today at the Hotel Commodore. Convinced that of the four million Jews in this country, about three-quarters would incline toward traditional Judaism, if organized, the convention will concentrate upon organizational problems.

The assemblage will study Jewish life as a whole; that is, how to bring about order where chaos exists, how to harmonize and coordinate the partisanship which is now evident. It is the desire of the United Synagogue to be the centralizing agent in this task.
