Reports from Sidney to the local papers suggest that Sir John Monash, commander of the Australian forces in the World War, is the most popular alternative to Sir Isaac Isaacs for Governor-General of Australia. Sir John is being discussed as a likely candidate. In his favor it is pointed out that he has never been identified with politics.
