Fred Lazarus, Jr., secretary and treasurer of the F. & R. Lazarus & Co., the largest department store in Central Ohio, is one of the nine directors who were nominated to membership on the Board of Directors of the United States Chamber of Commerce at Washington, D. C.

Nomination to this body is equivalent to election. He becomes director of the domestic distribution department of the organization, representing the retailers of the country on the board. Mr. Lazarus is at present president of the Cleveland Jewish Orphan Home.
