The Allied Jewish Campaign for $305,000, which is to open here Sunday evening, May 11, with a dinner at the Hotel Statler at which Dr Abba Hillel Silver of Cleveland will be the principal speaker, received encouragement this week from leading non-Jewish citizens and officials. Among those who endorsed the campaign in statements addressed to Henry Wine-man, chairman of the campaign, are : Mayor Charles Bowles, Senator James Couzens, Representative Robert H. Clancy and Clarence J. McLeod and Superintendent of Schools Frank Cody.
