Professor Albert A. Michelson has proven to be not only Jack-of-all-trades, but also master of them all. Fresh upon the news that he has been honored by the London Physical Society for 1930 for his notable scientific contributions, comes the news that he is the composer of a musical composition which he has named “Grandpa’s Lullaby.”

“It’s really nothing,” he is reported to have said, “I composed it several years ago for a child and for the fun of it.”

Professor Michelson is an accomplished violinist, and despite his numerous scientific activities finds time to indulge in his hobbies, such as playing bridge, chess and billiards.
