Toronto’s $65,000 United Palestine Appeal Campaign opened to night with a banquet at the King Edward Hotel with Dr. Stephen S. Wise as the principal speaker. Before a large and enthusiastic audience, Dr. Wise appealed to Toronto Jewry to work with redoubled efforts for the Homeland in these critical times and not to be deterred by obstacles which the enemies of Zionism are placing in its paths. The drive is under the chairmanship of Hyam Smith.

The $65,000 which Toronto is now called upon to raise for Palestine is part of the $300,000 Dominion objective towards the redemption of the One Million Dollar pledge made by Canadian Jewry for the purchase of the Valley of Sharon, one of the most fertile areas in the Jewish Homeland.
