Albert S. Lavenson, merchant and philanthropist of Oakland, Calif., died at the age of 65 from heart disease, probably aggravated by exposure and exhaustion which he suffered some time ago when he was lost in the mountains. Mr. Lavenson was a member of the National Jewish Welfare Board.
He was also a music enthusiast and had presented the music department of Mills College with a $50,000 endowment fund and had also taken a leading part in organizing the Oakland Grand Opera Association and the Bay Cities Opera Association.
