Representatives of North Dakota’s 2700 Jews came from points 400 miles away to attend the state conference which opened the Allied Jewish Campaign here today at which Fargo contributors raised $1,500 of the state’s $20,000 quota. Despite the agricultural and economic depression prevailing here the all-day conference which was addressed by Rabbi Albert G. Minda of Minneapolis expressed confidence that the quota would be raised.
Harry Lashkowitz of Fargo, prominent lawyer and B’nai Brith official, was elected state chairman of the drive and Herman Wilk, also of Fargo, was named treasurer. Max Rabinovich of Grand Forks was chosen honorary chairman.
