264 Jewish Immigrants Reached Canada in May

Of the 17,255 immigrants reaching Canada through the ports of Halifax and Quebec during the month of May 264 were Jews, according to figures made public today by the Jewish Immigrant Aid Society of Canada. Of this number 12 were temporarily detained but ten were later admitted, one was deported and the case of one is still pending.

The 264 Jewish immigrants are destined by provinces as follows; Quebec 111, Ontario 96, Manitoba 34, Saskatchewan 9, British Columbia 8, Alberta 4, New Foundland 1 and Nova Scotia 1.
