The headquarters of the Keren Hayesod, the chief financial instrumentality of the Jewish Agency, today called on the Keren Hayesod committees throughout the world to organize for the tenth anniversary jubilee campaign in November. The Keren Hayesod was established in London in 1920 as a Jewish Foundation Fund. Oscar Wasserman, president of the Deutsche Bank of Berlin, is chairman of the board of directors.

Widespread activities are planned to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Keren Hayesod’s work in financing the economic and agricultural rebuilding of Palestine. World-famous Jewish and non-Jewish personalities are expected to participate in the celebration which will include meetings throughout the world, press conferences, special films showing achievements of the Jews in Palestine, lectures, synagogue gatherings and special newspaper and magazine issues.

The jubilee month’s activities will be the forerunner of the intensive work designed to secure exceptionally large results for the Keren Hayesod in 5691 which starts Rosh Hashonah (September 23). While the first decade of the Keren Hayesod has rallied large sections of the Jewish people and demonstrated the power radiating from Palestine and the fervent interest of the Jewish masses in its upbuilding, unprecedented efforts are needed to overcome all obstacles. The jubilee month will serve as a call to spur world Jewry to strengthen the Jewish position in Palestine.

From April 1, 1921 to December 31, 1929 the Keren Hayesod’s income from all parts of the world was $20,121,980. Of this sum the United States contributed more than half or $10,976,970. Other countries contributing large sums over this period were South Africa, $1,505,320; Germany, $982,505; Roumania, $877,645; Great Britain, $875,275; Poland, $820,550 and Canada, $737,070.
