Sunday, August 3, the 9th day of the Hebrew month of Ab, commemorated in the synagogues throughout the world as the day when the Temple was destroyed by Titus, was urged as a day for increased activity in behalf of the Jewish National Fund, the agency of the Zionist Organization for the purchase of land in Palestine.
An appeal issued by 170 rabbis, representing that many congregations, was circularized throughout the Jewish houses of worship in the United States. Spiritual leaders of varied theological views have affixed their signatures to the appeal.
