A mass meeting to protest against the recent anti-Jewish excesses in Marumuresh and Borscha, Roumania, and to raise funds for the relief of the Jewish victims there, will be held on Sunday afternoon, July 27th, in the Lafayette Casino. The meeting is being arranged by eight Jewish “landsmannschaft” societies in Manhattan and Brooklyn whose members come from Marumuresh.
Among the speakers who will address the meeting will be Leo Wolfson, president, and Herman Speier, secretary, of the Federation of Roumanian Jews and Rabbi Pfeffer of the Marumuresh Synagogue.
Funds for the immediate relief of the pogrom victims are now being raised among the Marumuresh “landsleute” in New York and other cities.
