Bashka Paeff, noted New England Jewish sculptress, who is at present exhibiting at the famous Paris Salon, was awarded the Tercentenary medal at the Boston Tercentenary Art Exhibit held at Horticultural Hall for her portrait bust of A. J. Philpott, eminent art critic of this city. The announcement was made by the Boston Tercentenary Committee, and the award by an especially picked art jury.

Miss Paeff is known throughout the country for her Chaplain’s War Memorial in the Hall of Fame in the Boston State House, the great War Memorial for the State of Maine, her figures and sun-dial fountains for Julius Rosenwald of Chicago, and her numerous portrait works, among which are those of the famed Justice Louis D. Brandeis and Justice Holmes of the Supreme Court of Washington.
