A warning that unless all anti-Semitic agitation in Bukowina is rooted out the responsible officials will be removed was issued today by the ministry of the interior, according to the Roumanian News Agency, which reports that despite the stern measures taken by the government to suppress the anti-Semitic propaganda it is still flourishing in many cities in Bukowina.
Meanwhile more arrests have been made by the police in connection with the bomb that was thrown Saturday into the house of Menachem Rubinger, a Jew from Dorna. The two notorious anti-Semitic leaders, Carol Danila and Nicolai Totu, who escaped from Dorna following the bomb-outrage are still at large. A second telegram has been sent to all branches by the secret police instructing them to find Danila and Totu and turn them over to the authorities at Kimpolung who are investigating the bomb-throwing.
The probe into the bomb-throwing has established that it was a fortunate thing that the infernal machine failed to go off because it contained dynamite. A further search of the luggage that Danila abandoned in his flight from Dorna revealed a copy of the bylaws of his illegal terroristic organization and plans for attacks not only on the Jews but on a number of government officials.
Commenting on the attempt to kill Rubinger by the bomb the local paper says, “it is too bad that the student leaders are now beginning to use bombs. If certain high officials doubted until now that Danila, Totu and their followers are dangerous to the country their doubts will now be shaken”.
