Joseph Cuba, of this city, was elected president of the Southern Interstate Young Judean Association at the concluding session of the five-day annual convention.
Seven states and 16 principal cities with 175 delegates were represented at the gathering, including, in addition to Atlanta, visitors from Birmingham, New Orleans, Chattanooga, Jacksonville, Columbus, Savannah, Miami, Augusta, Rome, Montgomery, Waynesboro, Charleston, Mobile, Selma and Memphis.
Mr. Cuba succeeds Louis Geffen as head of the southern Young Judaeans. Oteher officers named were Fannie Brener, New Orleans, first vice-president; Milton Blank, Atlanta, second vice-president; Rebecca Minkow, Birmingham, third vice-president; Mitzi Simrich, Montgomery, corresponding secretary; Sarah Rothkow, Savannah, recording secretary; Fruma Belle Winer, Chattanooga, convention secretary; Sidney Parks, Atlanta, treasurer; Edith Kohn, Savannah, chairman executive committee, and Abraham Eiseman, Savannah, editor.
Chattanooga was named as the next convention city. The principal discussion topics of the five-day gathering involved club projects and the technique of Jewish leadership with two educational sessions led by Edward M. Kahn, executive director of the Atlanta Jewish Educational Alliance.
