Roumania Names Commission to Probe Synagogue Fire

The government has appointed an investigating commission of three to probe the fire that early this wek damaged the largest Jewish synagogue in Roumania at Maramoresh Sighet. The commission consists of a local judge, the public attorney and the police prefect. The chairman is the supreme state attorney, M. Fildan.

The Iron Guard, anti-Semitic youth organization, is continuing its attacks on the Jews. Leon Herskowitz, a young Jew, was seriously beaten in Galatz and one of his attackers was arrested. In the Kishinev public gardens students attacked Ilie Weinberg. The students were arrested and are being held for trial.
