The failure of the new German Constitutional Party to nominate any Jews on its slate for the Reichstag elections was remedied today with the nomination of Bruno Weil, vice-president of the Central Association of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith, and a leader of the recently liquidated Democratic party, as a candidate for a Berlin district.
The candidacy of Georg Bernhard, editor of the “Vossiche Zeitung,” in Potsdam, has been definitely rejected. This has brought forth bitter comments in the Jewish press which is now questioning the assurances given by the new party’s leaders that it will be friendly to the Jews.
