Eduard Meyer, Ex-dean of Berlin University, Dead at 75

Professor Eduard Meyer, noted educator and historian and former dean of the University of Berlin is dead here at the age of 75. He was known as an authority on the early history of Christianity. An exchange professor at Harvard in 1909 he received an honorary degree which he returned in 1919 after the World War. He also returned a degree from Oxford. Prior to America’s entrance to the War, Dr. Meyer bitterly criticized Harvard for its alleged “muzzling of pro-German professors.”
