Representative William I. Sirovich, M. D. has accepted the invitation of Dean George R. Hardie of Long Island University to serve on a committee which is to formulate plans for the creation of a medical college which is to be a part of Long Island University and which is to provide additional facilities for Jewish students who desire to study medicine.

In his letter of invitation to Representative Sirovich, Dean Hardie writes:

“Three-fourths of the students of Long Island University are Jewish. Facilities for the study of medicine in the city of New York are pitifully inadequate. The medical schools of the city have many times as many applicants for admission as they are able to receive. Knowing your interest in the welfare of Jewish youth, I feel confident of receiving assurance that you will lend the pretige of your name to this very worthy undertaking”.
