The economic condition of Palestine is not merely better but also stronger and sounder than that of many European countries and of the United States, Sigfried Hoofien, manager of the Anglo-Palestine Company and president of the Jaffa Chamber of Commerce told representatives of credit institutions, industrialists and municipal officials today.
Stressing the fact that today’s meeting was arranged before the government’s statement on policy was published, Mr. Hoofien said that the latest political events would undoubtedly influence all phases of life but it was premature as yet to discuss their influence on economic life.
