Hitlerite anti-Semitism finally succeeded today in compelling the producers of “Shadows over Harlem,” a play by Ossip Dymow, Jewish author of New York, to withdraw the production. The action followed a week of heckling and persecution of the Jewish actors.
The campaign of persecution against the actors was redoubled by the National Socialists when the Minister of Education refused their petition to have the play closed. It grew so strong that the producers of the play themselves decided the work would have to be withdrawn.
