Yesterday’s sensational reports in the Jerusalem press that oil had been found in the vicinity of the Dead Sea were confirmed to some extent today by the Jerusalem correspondent of the Berliner Tageblatt. He cabled that a concession for the exploitation of the oil field alleged to have been uncovered will be granted to an English oil company represented
by D. A. Sutherland, mining engineer, who has already purchased 250,000 hectares of petroleum lands.
