A vote of thanks should be given to Lord Passfield for the British White Paper restricting Jewish immigration to Palestine, Jacob de Haas said in an address in the Jewish Community Center here, “because it called out all the strength, all the courage and all the backing of the Jews.”
Originally intended merely as one of a lecture series, the session became a protest meeting, at which formal resolutions were adopted objecting to the Passfield statement. More than 300 persons attended.
