Henry Morgenthau, Jr., son of the former American ambassador to Turkey, has been appointed State Conservation Commissioner by Governor Roosevelt. Mr. Morgenthau, who at present is the head of the Agricultural Advisory Commission, will succeed Alexander Macdonald as Conservation Commissioner. Mr. Morgenthau is the publisher of the American Agriculturist, a weekly with a large circulation in New York and adjacent states, and is the owner of a 1400-acre fruit and dairy farm in Dutchess County.
