The Jewish problem in Mexico may come up at an extraordinary session of the Mexican Congress, which is being opened on Friday, the J.T.A. representative learns. The Jewish leaders here are considering submitting to Congress a memorandum on the subject. Although it is doubtful whether the appeal will meet with any success, the Jews hope, however, that any discussion of the Jewish problem in Congress will be effective in calling public attention to the plight of the Jewish population.
Meanwhile, the Jewish population of Mexico continues to be in a state of depression, fearing that the discrimination will not stop at the Jewish pedlars, but will spread also to the Jewish industrialists and will generally assume a larger scale.
The Jews blame the Mexican press for the present situation, regarding it as the chief instigator of the anti-Jewish movement.
