Coast Synagogue Group Creates Board to Work with Students

A college activities committee to work with students who desire Jewish activities on the campus has been appointed by the Pacific Coast Conference of the United Synagogue, which held a convention here last May. This committee, of which Rabbi Jacob Freedman of Long Beach is chairman, will work with “key” men appointed at the various colleges. Rabbis and lay leaders will cooperate with this committee in conducting high holy day services on the campus, and will also give lectures of interest on Jewish subjects and conduct sermons.

Two other important committees have been appointed by the executive council of the Pacific Coast Conference of the United Synagogue, in accordance with the recommendations made at the convention. An arbitration committee, headed by Dr. Louis G. Reynolds of Los Angeles, was appointed for the purpose of assisting in the solution of problems that may arise between rabbis and their congregation.
