Two more Jewish cemeteries have been desecrated in Germany today, bringing up the number to over 120. In both cases the vandalism was committed by school-boys of about eleven years of age.

In the Jewish cemetery at Griede### a number of gravestones were broken down by two boys, who scratched on them their names and “Hail Hitler”. In the Jewish cemetery at Offenbach, two gravestones were smashed.

In nearly all cases where it has been possible to trace the offenders it has been found that the desecrations of the cemeteries have been committed by children of school-age. At various protest meetings in Germany, both Jewish and non-Jewish speakers have emphasised this fact as showing the demoralisation of the younger generation effected by Hitlerist incitement. The Chief Rabbi, Dr. J.H. Hertz, too, drew attention to this aspect of the problem in a recent letter which appeared in the London “Times”.
