The German Social Democratic Party in Czecho-Slovakia has selected Dr. Franz Bacher as its representative in Parliament in succession to Deputy Professor Bruno Alexander Kafka, who died recently. Dr. Bacher, who is a well known journalist, is a nephew of Eduard Bacher, co-publisher of the “Wiener Neue Freie Presse”. He is 47 years of age. Since 1919 he has been chairman of the Federation of German Journalists in Czecho-Slovakia, and he is also lecturer in journalism at the School of Political Science.

Only last week the Jewish Party appointed Dr. Angelo Goldstein as its second Deputy in Parliament in succession to the late Deputy Ludwig Singer, the founder of the Party, who died in July.
